Tube and Pipe Fabricating Tools, Dies and Equipment.
For 90° Joint Notches on Pipe and Tube

The Arc-Fit method is a fast method of accurately notching and slotting the ends of pipe and tubing to make 90° “T Joints” or other shape notches and slots.

Samples of 90° or “T” Joint applications.

Cutaway of 90° notch produced by Arc-Fit unit showing side walls intact.

VOGEL # 35 ARC-FIT STANDARD UNIT For making 90° or “T” Joints

The tube is rotated 180° and the second side is then notched. The notch produced is without deformation and is contoured to form perfect “T” Joints for welding or brazing.

A separate Punch and Die assembly is required for each pipe or tubing diameter each wall thickness and each notch radius.

VOGEL “Angular” Units
For making (35° minimum) angular pipe and tubing joints

When ordering specify type of material, outside diameter, wall or gauge, size piece it is to fit against, angle desired between tubes and furnish sketch, blueprint or sample. Notched samples identical or similar to your particular needs will be gladly furnished upon request.

Arc Fit Angular Units are designed to produce Angular Notches on Pipe and Heavy Wall Tubing such as that used to make Stair Rails, Bracing Systems, or railings for the Ship Building Industry.

For the rapid notching of round, square, oval or rectangular tubing ends to form 25° to 90° angular joints between tubes.

For mitering round, square, oval or rectangular tubing to fit 25° to 89° as shown. (Note: The tube must be cut to length before mitering.)

Arc Snug Angular Units are designed to produce “True Contoured” Angular or 90° Joints on medium and thin walled tubing (can be used on heavy wall tube also) such as that used in toys, bicycles, furniture and aircraft braces.

Each Arc Snug Assembly consists of two Punch and Die Sub-Assemblies requiring two total strokes to complete the operation, Note A (if two parts are inserted, one part can be produced in each press stroke).

Specify tube diameter, wall thickness and specific angle.

Vogel Mitre Snug Units produce clean, accurate true fitting mitred joints that do not require the deburring that is associated with saw or abrasive cutting. Parts can be cut at high speeds in Vogel Cut-off equipment then mitred in two strokes in Mitre Snug Tooling. Mitre Snugs use the same Housings as the Arc Snugs above and are practically identical in operation.

Specify tube diameter, wall thickness and specific angle.

For double notching 90° “T” Joints on pipe and tubing.

Vogel "V" notching and side notching of tube and pipe.
Cut away of 90° notch produced by the ARC TWIN Unit (same as ARC FIT but in one stroke.

For Double Notching Pipe and Tubing

The ARC-TWIN notched both sides of pipe and tubing ends for T-joints with one stroke of the press. There is no deformation, all edges are clean and the “twin-notches” form perfect T-joints for welding or brazing. Notching time per tube or pipe end is less than three seconds.

Notches both sides of one pipe or tube end in one press stroke.

Tandem Units on application.

“V” Notch Units can notch square or Rectangular Tubing within their square capacity. The Tubing is automatically clamped and unclamped for easy insertion and removal of the work-piece.

* Stroke shown is the minimum stroke required to side load the tool. To front load add 1” for the 206AA and 3” for the 207

Vertical Tube Piercing Units. Used in Punch Presses, Press Brakes, Air or Hydraulic Presses, Perf-Arc Vertical Piercing Units offer a flexibility and adaptability which reduces both set up time and costs. They can be used singly or in multiples of two or more and can be positioned adjoining one another, spaced apart or at angles to pierce tubing which has been bent prior to piercing.

DEMOUNTABLE UNITS
All demountable units clamp the tube prior to the perforator entering the tube. Die set mounting top and bottom is recommended.
DIMPLED HOLE ONE SIDE ONLY, NO HOLE OTHER SIDE
(can be used with horizontal units)

DIMIPLRD HOLE BOTH SIDES (different perforator sizes or shapes can be used)(can notbe used with horizontal units)(Bases keyed for break press mounting optional)

SELF CONTAINED UNITS
Self contained units are the easiest to set up requiring only mounting of the base of the unit.
DIMPLED HOLE ONE SIDE, CLEAN HOLE OTHER SIDE
-Upper clamp holds the tube prior to perforating, thus eliminating OD bulging
-Can be used with horizontal units and
subplate mounted arbors
-Units are keyed so shaped perforators can be used
-Units eject slugs to the right unless otherwise
